Each year we have two generic battle scenarios at our event in which our reenactors particiapte.  Battles are Saturday and Sunday afternoon.  A complete schedule will be posted as soon as it is available and will include a supper (free to all in period attire) and dance on Saturday night, ladies tea, dining with President Lincoln Friday night and/or Sunday morning, pie auction and much more!

This event is held at Shooter's Roost which is located about 5 miles south of Bloomfield, Iowa on the route taken by James "Bill" Jackson and his men as they robbed, terroized and killed citizens of Davis County, Iowa  during a guerrilla border raid on October 12, 1864.

We are also searching for information about the people involved in the raid (victims or raiders).  Check out the "Raid Info" button.

This event is not in a city park.  If you want the look and feel of how a Civil War era camp should be, come to Shooter's Roost in 2009!

Click on "Schedule Directions" button at top of page for schedule, pictures & directions.
